Itinerary

Marrakech to Fes - Chefchaouen

Day 1Arrival in Marrakech

Welcome to Marrakech: Arrive at Marrakech Menara Airport, where you’ll be met by your driver and transferred to your hotel or riad.

Explore Marrakech: After checking in, you’ll have free time to explore Jemaa el-Fnaa, the bustling square, where you’ll find street food, musicians, snake charmers, and local merchants. Visit Koutoubia Mosque, Bahia Palace, and stroll through the Majorelle Gardens.

Evening: Enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner in one of the local restaurants.

Day 2Marrakech to Merzouga desert

Drive to Merzouga: In the morning, depart Marrakech and drive through the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the famous Tizi n’Tichka pass with panoramic views of the mountains and valleys. Continue on to Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO-listed kasbah that’s appeared in many films.

Ouarzazate & Ziz Valley: Pass through Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Morocco,” and the Ziz Valley, famous for its palm groves and dramatic gorges.

Merzouga: Arrive in Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara. From here, take a camel ride into the dunes of Erg Chebbi.

Desert Camp: Enjoy a magical sunset in the desert before spending the night in a luxury desert camp, with Berber music, a traditional Moroccan dinner, and an unforgettable night under the stars.

Day 3Merzouga to Fes

Sahara Sunrise: Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes, a moment you’ll never forget.

Desert Adventure: After breakfast, take a camel ride back to Merzouga and head back towards Fes. On the way, stop at the mountain town of Midelt, known for its apple orchards.

Scenic Drive: Continue through the Middle Atlas Mountains, passing through Ifrane, a picturesque town often referred to as “Little Switzerland” due to its European-style architecture.

Arrival in Fes: Reach Fes in the late afternoon or evening and check into your riad or hotel.

Day 4Full Day Guided Tour of Fes

Explore Fes Medina: Spend the day discovering Fes, one of Morocco’s most ancient cities. With your local guide, visit the Al-Qarawiyyin University, the oldest continuously operating university in the world, and the Fes Tanneries, where leather is still dyed in ancient vats.

Medersa Bou Inania: Visit this stunning 14th-century Islamic school, a true gem of Fes’ architecture.

Bab Boujloud: Walk through the famous Blue Gate, one of the most iconic entrances to the medina.

Shopping in the Souks: After visiting the historical sites, explore the souks (markets) of Fes, where you can shop for local crafts, carpets, and spices.

Day 5Fes to Chefchaouen

Morning Drive to Chefchaouen: After breakfast, drive north through the scenic hills and valleys of northern Morocco, heading to the beautiful Chefchaouen.

Explore Chefchaouen: Arrive in the late afternoon and check into your riad or hotel. Spend the evening wandering through the blue-painted streets of Chefchaouen, a town famous for its relaxed atmosphere and picturesque buildings.

Enjoy the Views: Perched in the Rif Mountains, Chefchaouen offers stunning views of the surrounding peaks and valleys, especially at sunset.

Day 6Full Day in Chefchaouen

Wander the Blue City: Take a leisurely stroll through the charming streets of Chefchaouen, known for its striking blue buildings and narrow alleyways. Visit the Kasbah (fortress) at the center of the medina, which houses a museum with exhibits on local culture and history.

Rif Mountains Hike: If you’re up for it, take a short hike up to Ras El Maa, a waterfall located just outside the city, offering stunning views of the town below and the surrounding mountains.

Relax in Town: Spend your afternoon relaxing in the cafes of the main square, enjoying the tranquility and beauty of this photogenic town.

Day 7Chefchaouen to Marrakech

Drive Back to Marrakech: After breakfast, start your journey back to Marrakech. The drive will take approximately 5-6 hours, passing through the scenic hills of northern Morocco.

Arrive in Marrakech: Check into your hotel or riad in the afternoon and enjoy some free time to relax, shop, or explore any sites you may have missed earlier in your stay.

Evening in Marrakech: If time allows, visit Jardin Menara for a relaxing evening or take in the sights of Saadian Tombs before heading to your final dinner in Marrakech.

Day 8Departure from Marrakech

Final Exploration: Depending on your flight time, enjoy a final morning in Marrakech. You can revisit the Majorelle Gardens, Saadian Tombs, or simply relax in a cafe in the medina.

Transfer to the Airport: Your driver will take you to Marrakech Menara Airport for your departure.
